USS Poseidon
The USS Poseidon was a Federation Starship of the Norway Class. It was originally commissioned under the name USS John C Stennis, but was renamed when the vessel was captured during the Federation Civil War.
The vessel was repaired and refitted and later selected for a hazardous mission. Captain Saleke of the 52nd Fleet was given command of the vessel and ordered to destroy a series of early warning outposts and to disrupt supply in an area controlled by the 2nd fleet, in advanced of a planned offensive by the 52nd Fleet.
The Mission was successful, but during the attempt to escape from enemy held territory the Poseidon encountered the USS Defender, commanded by Rear Admiral Errol Heatherby
Heatherby proved to be a match for Saleke. The Poseidon was destroyed. Although it was initally thought that the ship was lost with all hands. Captain Saleke proved to have survived on the planetoid Alpha Serapsis 149.
